Teaching students the value of marketing, public relations and internet marketing for the past ten years through hands on practical application in the classroom with engaging lectures via the classroom, 2-way and teletechnet. Recognized for teaching in the classroom with multiple awards. My dedication to students in the classroom is supported by more than 15 years in the industry instructing businesses and organizations across the Commonwealth on the importance of e-commerce and Internet marketing, leading a statewide e-commerce conference, serving as public relations lead for a local university and the director of a joint AM/FM radio news operation.

* Teach courses in public relations, internet marketing, principles of marketing and special projects courses in marketing via the classroom, 2-way and teletechnet.
* Recognized for teaching in the classroom with 3 Shining Star Awards for outstanding teaching and honored as Most Inspirational Faculty Member in Strome College by the top graduate in May 2012.
*Presented the FACULTY TEACHING AWARD for non-tenure track professors by Strome College at ODU in 2013.
* Served on a review panel for two separate public relations publications last year for the Oxford University Press. In December, I served on a review panel for the PR Casebook: Translating Values into Conduct: Cases in Public Relations Ethics by Brigitta Brunner and Corey Hickerson. In April, I served on a second review panel for the PR text: Public Relations in the Digital Age by Kelleher and reviewed two separate chapters on Planning and Implementation. Involvement in these review panels helped me re-evaluate my public relations course.
* Chapter Advisor of the ODU American Marketing Association (AMA) Club – helped revive the club from 0 to 30+ active members, re-established ties with the Hampton Roads Professional Chapter of the AMA, served as a judge for the National Collegiate Chapter of the AMA, and mentored students in the successful completion of the Chapter Plan and Report since Fall 2010. Under my leadership, the club has won numerous awards through the National Chapter including Outstanding Chapter Planning, Outstanding Community Service and Outstanding Video Campaigns for the AMA Saves Lives Project. Last year, I organized a mobile tour of US POLO Association to our campus for our club members, which allowed them the opportunity to interact with Brand Ambassadors and learn about Event Management.
* Embracing teaching innovations throughout my courses by actively participating in the QEP quality-writing workshop. This workshop helped me create writing intensive project in my public relations course, MKTG 406.
* Participated in a pilot program to provide electronic textbooks to students in my MKTG 311 course that resulted in a research presentation at the AMA Collegiate Conference in spring 2014.
* Master Advisor & Chief Departmental Advisor for 100+ sophomore and junior marketing majors in the Strome College since Fall 2009.
* Active member of the Recruitment, Retention, and Promotion (RRAP) Committee – helped to coordinate the Business Fair – a major event for the college each year.

Social Media Marketing Plan for Radical Skincare - Fall 2015

Marketing students under my direction created and developed social media strategies for communicating the Radical brand with emphasis on their upcoming Get Radical Book Launch. Students created a social media campaign and evaluated the results of their social media efforts. Analysis was conducted on all of Radical’s social media efforts: Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and Instagram.
Internet Marketing Project for Marine Concepts - Summer 2015

Students competed for a cash prize of $100. The project involved creation of internet marketing strategies that the company could implement. Some of the winning ideas included ways to better optimize the company’s website and mobile site, improvements to their facebook presence, and ways to incorporate a blog and YouTube to the company’s social media efforts.
Marketing & Promotion Plan for ODU Formula SAE Team - Spring 2013

Led a special projects course in partnership with ODU’s Mechanical Aerospace Engineering department. Four senior marketing students assisted with the marketing efforts for ODU mechanical engineers who designed a formula style race vehicle for an international competition in Michigan.
Marketing & Advertising Campaign for Local Chevy Dealers, Fall 2011

Led a special projects course that included seven senior marketing students who created, marketed, and launched a high profile local advertising campaign for Chevrolet’s newest car, the 2012 Sonic. During the project, the students conducted market research and analyzed trends concerning target demographic to develop creative strategy to increase brand awareness, worked extensively in localizing social media efforts using Twitter, Facebook, and FourSquare while monitoring analytics to track progress and coordinated logistics of a launch party/on-site activation attracting over 200 participants.
